Permission Code requests for the classes listed below will be available to be requested beginning Monday, April 11, 2022. Please note links go to the Spring 2022 catalog for course descriptions.
Note that a cleared USBE Background Check is required to enroll in these classes. If you do not have a USBE Background Check, please go to: https://uite.utah.edu/students/background-check/ and complete the background check steps available.

EDU 1010: Introduction to Teaching
EDU 5200: Teacher Language Awareness
Please note, the following classes are available for Summer Registration. ED PS 6/5315 and ED PS 6/5321 through the University of Utah’s ED PS department. EDU 6/5316 and EDU 6/5321 through the University of Utah’s Reading Clinic. Additional course information and registration is below.
EDU 5316: Basic Intervention for Primary Grade Readers To enroll in this course, students should have already successfully completed ED PS 5315: Reading Methods I: K-6 Foundational Skills, Phonics, Word Study and Fluency with a B- or better, or be concurrently enrolled for Fall 2022.
EDU 5321: Basic Intervention for Upper Elementary Grade Readers To enroll in this course, students should have already successfully completed ED PS 5321: Reading Methods II: K-6 Vocabulary and Comprehension Instruction with a B- or better, or be concurrently enrolled for Fall 2022. (ED PS 5321 course description links to Spring 2021.) Prerequisites for this class are ED PS 5315 and EDU 5316.
