Urban Institute for Teacher Education

The University of Utah’s undergraduate teacher education program, known as the Urban Institute of Teacher Education (UITE), was recently reviewed and evaluated on its reading program by the National Council of Teacher Quality (NCTQ). The UITE was one of 1,000 programs throughout the U.S. evaluated by the NCTQ. The UITE was rated A in early reading instruction in the NCTQ’s report, The 2020 Teacher Prep Review: Program Performance in Early Reading Instruction. Congratulations to the UITE reading team for excellence in early reading instruction.
