Julia graduated from Colorado College with a double major in biology and studio art in 2009 and earned a master’s degree in Art Education from Boston University in 2019. When she is not teaching, she enjoys being outdoors – bicycling for fun and for transportation, horseback riding, skiing, and making my own art. Julia tells graduates that one of the wonderful things about teaching is that there is no one right way to teach. To find your authentic teaching style and approach observe your fellow teachers, experiment in your classroom, and seek out learning opportunities that spark your curiosity and creativity. I love empowering young people to find their creative voices, creating a studio environment in the art classroom, and collaborating with my fellow staff members.
